Our team, based in Melbourne, Australia, competes in the 'HQ Holden' Racing Category under the CAMS (Confederation of Australian Motorsport) jurisdiction. HQ Holden Racing is a heavily regulated category, designed to provide close racing and develop race craft at an affordable price. In fact, our Association's moto is:
"Affordable Excitement"
In 2009, we celebrated 20 Years of HQ Holden racing in Australia and, being a truly national category, clubs and members still compete in every State of Australia. After 20 years, our Category is still going strong.

Phillip Island 15 & 16 April 2011
After missing Round 1 of our Championship due to a scheduled holiday, the Rocket Racing Team were hoping to be back in form for Round 2 at Phillip Island for the "Dallas Crane Challenge", especially after the fatal engine failure at Bathurst in February.

Bathurst February 2011
Unfortunately, the start of our 2011 season didn't get off to a flying start at Bathurst. After a fatal engine failure in the Practice seesion, our racing weekend was finished.

Round 6 - Phillip Island 2010
The last points Round of the 2010 season was held at Phillip Island, September 25 & 26. The weather also held out with Sunday being a great, sunny day. With results of 1st, 3rd and 3rd in the three races, Rod came home in Third place for the Round but more importantly sealed the CAMS Victorian Championship for 2010.

HQ Nationals - Perth WA
The Rocket Racing Team went to Perth this year(17 to 19 September) to compete for the title of "National HQ Champion". After 3 days of Practice, Qualifying and close and hard racing, our team came home in the Final in second place, with Gavin Porteous from South Australia taking out the Title.
A great weekend was had by everyone and the WA HQ Club put together a fantastic event and made all the Interstaters very welcome.

Winton Round - 28 & 29 August
With Two Wins and Two Seconds in Round 5 - Winton Raceway, 28 & 29 August, we aqcuired enough points to Win the Round. This gives our team wins in all 5 Rounds this year and also means that with still one Round to go in September, we've already sown up the 2010 HQRA Vic Club Championship.

2009 Championship
After a clean sweep at Winton Raceway on November 7 & 8 in the last Points Round for the season, our team has clinched the HQRA Club Championship for 2009. This means we've won both the CAMS VSCRC (Victorian State Circuit Racing Championship) and our Club Championships this year.
A huge thankyou to Neville Haley at "AutoTrac Advanced Automotive" for his engine and tuning expertise. 2009 was the first year we've had the benefit of Neville's services and the first year we've had Pole Positions, Race Wins and a Series Championship.
